The Master Programme Dance Teacher is directed towards professional dancers and dance teachers seeking to further their skills as dance teachers, ballet masters/rehearsal directors working in professional training institutions, community dance or in dance companies and theatres. The specialisation "Dance Teacher for Community Dance" offers an opportunity for candidates without a professional dance career if an equivalent aptitude is proven*. The Programmes are offered on-campus (full-time study) and as a work-study programme (part-time study).
Students opt for a focus in Ballet or Contemporary/Modern Dance and a specialisation as Ballet Master/Rehearsal Director, Dance Teacher in professional training or in Community Dance. The Master Dance Teacher is an interdisciplinary course and the subjects include dance, dance history, dance medicine, psychology, pedagogy and teaching practice, assistant teaching and composition.
Unique
...is the opportunity, with a student population of around 150 dancers from age 10 to 20, to work and explore processes with the dancers in training at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden who are fluent in ballet, contemporary and improvisation. A crosspollination between the Teacher Training and the Choreography Programme is emphasised in the profile of the University. Due to a multitude of partnerships, the Palucca University of Dance part of a large artistic network both in and outside the region.

Three years of experience as a Dancer in a Company*
or as Ballet Master/Training Director/Rehearsal Director*
- Dance Teacher for professional training
Requirements:
Three years of experience as a Dancer in a Company*
or five years as a Dance Teacher*
- Dance Teacher for Community Dance/Amateur fields
Requirements:
Minimum one year of experience as a Dancer in a Company
or minimum three years of experience as a Dance Teacher
or successful completion of the aptitude test (video presentation of the stipulated variation/Etude)
