VPN Access at Palucca University
Target Group: Staff
The VPN is a prerequisite for mobile work and enables secure access to the university's internal network.
After successful authentication, an encrypted VPN tunnel is established and your computer receives an IP address from the university. This allows you to access many services and programs from outside the campus that are normally only available within the university network. This includes direct access to network drives, printers, HIS-GX programs, time tracking and workflow, Augias archive, and other services.
VPN access is restricted to connections originating from within Germany for security reasons. Connection requests from outside Germany are blocked by default. For business-related travel abroad, temporary access may be granted upon prior approval.
To activate your Palucca account for VPN use, please contact the Organization/IT Department.
Usage
Note: The Let's Connect!-Client is pre-installed and configured on every university-owned laptop and MacBook. For security reasons, the use of the VPN is only permitted on these devices and not on private devices.
1. Open the "Let's Connect!-Client" on your device.
2. Click on the preconfigured server.
3. Your web browser will open automatically. Sign in using your Palucca email address, password and registered MFA method.
4. Click "Approve".
5. You are now connected to the VPN and may close the web browser. You can disconnect the VPN connection or quickly reconnect at any time by toggling the slider again.
Note: The maximum duration of a VPN session is 12 hours, so authentication is required at least once per day.
